Key Features
The Pro-Ject E1 Turntable is the entry-level model of the E-line range. It shares the same fundamental design as the E1 Phono and E1 BT models, retaining the same high-quality ethos but omitting the integrated phono stage and Bluetooth features of the higher models. This offers a lower-priced alternative, perfect as an introduction to premium Hi-Fi. The E1 is handcrafted in Europe from anti-resonance materials to give you impeccable playback of your vinyl collection. It is belt-driven with two speed functions (33 and 45 RPM).
Thanks to its pre-mounted Ortofon OM5E Moving Magnet Cartridge, known for its excellent tracking ability and detailed sound reproduction, you can begin using this product almost immediately upon unboxing. The cartridge is factory-set for downforce and anti-skate settings and is attached to a lightweight, precision-made aluminium tonearm with a fixed headshell. The E1 Turntable has a rigid MDF plinth with a glossy finish and four shock-absorbing feet, which help minimise unwanted vibrations and resonance. It also comes with a hinged dust cover for protection while not in use and a felt mat for the platter.

The Pro-Ject E1 Turntable is the first of three models in Pro-Ject’s entry-level E1 range. As you climb up the E-line in both specification and price, you'll find the E1 Phono and E1 BT which offer a built-in phono stage and Bluetooth. However, if you're in the market for something stripped-back without sacrificing build and sound quality, the E1 represents the benchmark for entry-level turntables. An extensive development procedure ensures excellent sound quality relative to the price while maintaining premium components for the durability of your vinyl collection. A main platter made of ABS polymer and an elegant CNC-machined composite fibre plinth, devoid of any hollow spaces, prevent needle jumping, thereby protecting your records while contributing to the rich, characterful sound. The E1 also offers a dampened DC motor for a smoother sound and minimal motor interference.
Upon opening your E1 Phono package, you’ll find your new turntable already partially assembled, enabling you to start enjoying your favourite records with minimal delay. The lightweight and low friction 8.6“ aluminium tonearm has been fitted with the Ortofon OM5E cartridge. Moreover, with the tracking force and anti-skating already adjusted, you can be confident that your turntable has the optimal settings from the word go; just sit back and enjoy what your records have to offer. The E1 also includes the Connect-it E RCA cable, meaning you'll be able to link your new turntable to an external phono stage or integrated amplifier. Along with this cable, you’ll find various accessories to help finish off the assembly of your turntable, details of which are listed in the below sections, as well as in the product manual and setup guide linked above.
The Pro-Ject E1 has been fitted with a robust DC motor which allows for effortless control and quiet operations, ensuring your favourite tracks are reproduced with utmost clarity and minimal interference. Dedicated to a smooth user experience, Pro-Ject have fitted this turntable with an electronic speed change switch, meaning you can change between 33 and 45 RPM speed settings without manual alterations. With an attachable acrylic dust cover, you'll be able to shield your records from dust and grit while not in use. By doing so, you'll help your vinyl sound better and last longer. The E1's belt-drive design also absorbs shock and dampens vibrations. As with all Pro-Ject turntables, this model is handmade in Europe and fine-tuned by vinyl experts for optimal performance. You can buy confidently knowing that care has been spent in every aspect of design and construction.
