Key Features
The Doepfer CTM64 is a MIDI out kit, supplied as an assembled and tested PC board. CTM stands for contact to midi while the number 64 refers to the fact that you can use up to 64 contacts. This is a DIY kit, so some electronics knowledge is needed to modify or create instruments with it.
Some uses of this might be to retrofit a keyboard lacking MIDI outputs, to have MIDI outputs. Other uses might include using switch panels, buttons and other contacts to transmit MIDI data. This would allow you to create your own MIDI controllers out of anything - potentially.
There are lots of ways you can use the CTM64, making it a flexible kit to use. For example, the program can be changed to output different ranges of MIDI messages - allowing you to chain units together. And there are also potentiometer plugs, allowing you to connect rotary wheels or potentiometers.
Product Ref: 221402
If you want to design your own MIDI controller or retrofit a vintage keyboard to send MIDI messages, the CTM64 is an ideal tool. 64 free contacts, 4 potentiometer slots, and MIDI in/out provides a wide range of customisable options to choose from. Example projects which have been made with the CTM64 include a midiGun controller, and a spiralshaped musical keyboard.
