The rear panel of the GXP 61 showcases an array of outputs and inputs for brilliant versatility. You can connect any expression pedal and footswitch or even connect a Y-cable adapter to the footswitch socket in order to utilise two independent switches. There is also a 5-pin MIDI out jack and an external power supply socket which is superbly useful for powering the keyboard when not connected via USB.
Innovation does not stop there. The custom Nektarine plugin control software lets you do so much more than you could ever dream of. Load and use up to 16 VST, VST3 or AU instrument plugins simultaneously, and even define keyboard zones, layers and splits from all of your loaded plugins. The GXP 61 has dedicated buttons for direct control of patches and plugin slots and you can save your plugin settings, as well as the combination of plugins into a multi-patch file. This allows you to recall the various VST combos via the touch of a button.
The keyboard comes with a free licence for Cubase LE. Cubase LE is a streamlined version of the award-winning DAW from Steinberg. It allows you to record, edit, arrange and export music with ease. With over 5GB of content (including sounds and loops) as well as Halion Sonic SE which includes over 180 instrument presets, this software lets you record up to 16 audio tracks and eight instruments simultaneously.
Create and inspire yourself with the Retrologue 2 VST synthesizer. This VST synth from Steinberg captures the essence of the synthesizer, emulating the classic analog warmth and grit of vintage synths. The virtual instrument features three oscillators, a range of fine-tuned filters and over 700 presets to get you started.
