Combining the best of both worlds into one portable unit; the Roland Aira T-8 provides you with seven tracks comprised of drums and bass. Six tracks are dedicated to drums with another track for bass sequencing. Utilising class-TR-REC drum sequencing capabilities; you can quickly and easily put down your ideas and capture inspiration when it strikes. From crafting on-the-fly loops and capturing ideas to creating fully-fledged tracks; the T-8 Beat Machine can do it all.
Get all the iconic sounds from past TR/TB Roland units via cutting-edge Analog Circuit Behaviour technology (ACB). ACB technology was developed specifically to enable the user to authentically recreate the sound and behaviour of classic analog synthesizers and drum machines. The ACB engine provides expressive and diverse sound with incredibly realistic characteristics, capturing every nuance of the legendary sounds found in the TR-808, TR-909, and TR-606 and the iconic TB-303 Bass Line synthesizer.
Whilst staying true to its vintage counterparts; the T-8 modernised the classic workflow with a range of new features and intuitive controls. At the heart of the T-8 is the powerful TR-REC step sequencer, first developed in the 80s and revered by beatmakers the world round. The intuitive sequencer makes it easy to develop ideas without having to stop the action. You can even use the same sounds found in the TB-303 so you can mangle waveforms and tones in an instant.
Let your creativity guide you with real-time recording and create dynamic performances and ever-evolving sequences. There is a range of new sequencing parameters and tools including sub-steps, velocity, step loop, pattern shift and more. You can even randomise your steps using the probability parameter; randomising when steps are hit within the sequencer. This can be useful for live performances or as a composition tool for creating new ideas.
For those who like to get in-depth when it comes to sound design, the Roland Aira T-8 provides a range of tools for shaping and processing sounds. A range of high-grade effects are on offer including overdrive and sidechain compression. There are also dedicated delay and reverb knobs so you can add depth and spatial colour to your sequences and grooves.
Designed for musicians and performers on the go; the Roland Aira T-8 features a highly compact design that will fit in your lap and be stored easily within most backpacks. Play and perform wherever you go thanks to the built-in Lithium-ion battery, which provides up to 4.5 hours of playback from a full charge. Not only that but the housing of the beat machine is constructed using robust materials to ensure a durable enclosure. Roland has also used high-quality components throughout the manufacturing process including premium-quality rubber pads for the various controls, ensuring a long lifespan.
The rear panel of the Aira Compact T-8 features a wide variety of connection options including audio, MIDI and sync I/O, as well as an AIRA Link port for connecting multiple Aira Compact units together. You can also use the T-8 with your favourite music software or as a MIDI controller thanks to the built-in, class-compliant USB-C audio MIDI interface.
Helping to define the sound of the '80s, the J-6 delivers the unmistakable character of vintage Roland synthesizers to your DAW. Capable of producing fat, punchy analog sounds through a formula of a single DCO, sub-oscillator and characterful VCF, the J-6 gives you indistinguishable, hi-fi and inspiring tones to level up your music production.
Spanning a wide range of genres, the J-6 provides you with 100 chord sets so you can pick and choose the vibe you want – even with zero music theory! The wide array of chord sets on offer makes it easy to translate your ideas into music or create accompaniments for live performances. The powerful sequencer provides you with 64 patterns, each with 64 steps so you can create loops and sequences with variations, tempo changes and much more. With a range of style banks and variations on offer; the J-6 makes it easier than ever to translate chords into rhythmic melodies and add a dynamic flair to your sequences.
Part of the creative process is being able to capture your inspiration when it strikes. With the J-6, you can easily create sequences and ideas thanks to the intuitive design and tactile controls on offer. Inject some colour into your sounds using the onboard reverb and delay effects or use the envelope and filter to sculpt your sound further and in real-time. You can even incorporate arpeggios and rhythmic phrases with nine different styles to choose from.
From the studio to the stage, the Roland Aira Compact E-4 is the ultimate performance tool for vocalists, beatboxers and MCs. Basing its design on its sibling the VT-3, the E-4 incorporates all the same tools and features in a compact and portable design. Boasting an intuitive interface with hands-on controls; the E-4 is ideal for live performances as well as studio work. Shape and transform your voice using the pitch and format sliders or dial-in rhythmic effects using the ‘Scatter’ knob. You can also shape your sound further using the low-filter and noise-gate to eliminate any unwanted sounds or low-end rumble.
From real-time pitch correction to a musical harmonizer and even a vocoder; the E-4 has everything you need to create powerful vocal performances. If you’re a singer, you can use the harmony button to add ethereal harmonies to your songs/performances. There is even an onboard vocoder so you can capture the sound of the 80s, championed by Roger Troutman and used in countless hit records from that era.
Capture your inspiration when it strikes with the onboard looper, providing 24-seconds of recording time with unlimited overdubbing. This opens a world of possibilities when it comes to creating loops, sequences and even full-blown vocal pieces. If you’re a beatboxer, this looper can be great for building up loops from the ground up. For example, you could lay down a drum beat then add a bassline, then a melody; all using your voice! Championed by the likes of Beardyman, this live-looping process is made easier than ever with the E-4
Not only that, but you can add some texture and process your vocals with a range of studio-grade effects on offer. Add some depth to your sound using the reverb or echo effect. There is also a tempo-synced delay and an array of chorus effects to choose from.
