The RD-88 EX introduces a host of new features that elevate it above the original RD-88 model. Central to its advancements is the inclusion of Roland's acclaimed SuperNATURAL technology, which powers its rich, characterful pianos. This includes the newly developed SuperNATURAL Acoustic Piano 3 Expansion, offering multiple expressive grand pianos, and classic electric pianos (EPs) that faithfully recreate vintage sounds from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s.

Additionally, the RD-88 EX boasts ZEN-Core versatility, providing access to over 3000 non-piano sounds, encompassing organs, synths, strings, brass, and world sounds from the extensive Roland library, all powered by the same engine as Roland's flagship synthesizers. The enhanced RD panel layout ensures a smooth workflow, allowing for quick sound category selection, setup saving in Scenes, and easy access to the main piano voice with a single touch.

Multi-function controls offer hands-on management of volume levels and other parameters, complemented by a comprehensive effects selection that ranges from basic studio enhancements to intense, over-the-top processing.

Boasting Ivory feel keys with Roland's latest touch-detection technology, the PHA-4 keyboard will always deliver an expressive performance. What's more, the white keys are finished with a moisture-absorbing material which provides a comfortable playing experience, even in hot environments.
