The Metric Halo ULN-2 is the ideal choice for any sound engineer or digital musician wanting to record and route a wide range of inputs. The 4 input/6 output configuration ensures you have enough connectivity to connect a range of equipment from microphones to keyboards. The 2 mic/line/instrument analog input feature Neutrik combo connectors for added flexibility, giving you a three-in-one connection that is ideal for a range of equipment and instruments. Also included is a headphone amplifier with front volume knob so you can monitor your inputs while recording. The 8 channels also feature all new ADAT I/O with switchable TOSLINK support for connecting a wide range of digital devices. 2 analog output are also included for connecting the Halo ULN-2 to external devices such as speakers or studio monitors.
ULN is an abbreviation, which stands for ‘Ultra Low Noise’. Metric have ensured this interface runs at the lowest noise possible for optimal audio quality throughout. The built-in mic pres will live up to the most demanding of recording applications, providing you with an exceptional gain range (up to 72dB) plus an EIN of -130.5 dBu resulting in optimal transparency and detail, plus an ultra-fast slew rate. Combined with the on-board FireWire connectivity and A/D/A converters, the built-in microphone preamplifiers will stand up to the best of them.
The Metric Halo ULN-2 features 24-bit/96kHz converters on all channels for pristine audio quality and exceptional harmonic characteristics. This ensures you capture every nuance of the sound you are recording, perfect for everything from vocals to electric guitars. The ULN-2 also features a wide variety of parameters and controls. The balanced TRS analog send and returns for analog inputs give you the ability to use the ULN-2 as a standalone analog mic pre/direct box for added versatility. This gives you a wide range of variety when it comes to functionality, allowing you to use the active splitter to drive a backup recorder, or even patch in analog dynamics processing between the Mic Pre and the converters.
The ULN-2 offers flexible powering options for a range of situations. You can utilise the 4-in XLR power port to power the unit with a variety of available broadcast battery systems. The 4-in power port is compatible with power sources including: 9-30V DC, Pin 4 Hot, 15 Watts.
