The PreSonus SW5E AVB Switch is the perfect networking solution for live audio and visual applications. The SW5E boasts a simple yet effective design with built-in PoE (Power Over Ethernet) technology, allowing you to power devices directly from the switch. The front-panel features five connectors in total, with the first-channel acting as the main link and the four other channels acting as input with PoE technology. As well as being the ideal solution for a range of equipment, the AVB Switch reaches its potential when used with StudioLive digital mixers from PreSonus. The SW5E acts the keystone in any audio visual setup and makes switching between sources a breeze.
One of the most innovative features the SW5E includes is the integrated PoE (Power Over Ethernet) technology. This revolutionary technology allows network cable to carry electrical power to compatible devices. This allows you to power various devices via the AVB switch, minimising the need for tedious power supplies. PoE technology is designed to carry both network data and electrical power simultaneously, with low latency for optimal audio performance.
The versatile design features roadworthy construction, ideal for use on the road. One of the most important yet overlooked features is the locking ethernet connectors. This locks the cable in place once put into an input, minimising any mishaps such as people tripping over cables and them becoming dislodged. This is paramount in live musical performances, ensuring the network will not fail due to human error. The unit itself is constructed from a heavy-duty, all-metal chassis, which can also be mounted with a rack using a rack tray. It features an internal power supply, as well as a standard IEC connector for optimal reliability.
