Flexible connectivity to capture any source
To ensure connectivity to almost any audio source, the ART USB Dual Pre features two combination inputs that allow you to plug XLR or 1/4-inch unbalanced jack cables. Ideal for connecting vocal microphones, both dynamic and condenser thanks to the onboard phantom power, direct level instruments such as electric guitars or bass and even line-level outputs from drum machines or synthesizers. The high level of fixed impedance ensures that when using passive electronic instruments such as an electric guitar, your signal will be amplified to the perfect level without introducing any background noise or interference.
As well as inputs, the ART USB Dual Pre also features some very handy outputs to help you integrate into your setup. Two 1/4-inch balanced output jacks allow you to connect to a set of powered monitors, a mixing desk or to a PA system directly without the need for any extra equipment. Additionally, a stereo 1/8-inch unbalanced jack output with an impedance of 50 Ohms allows you to connect your favourite pair of studio headphones to monitor your performance, gain levels and tone silently. Ideal for tracking parts in the studio.
The brains of your recording setup
Acting in a similar sense to an audio interface, the ART USB Dual Pre PS 2-Channel Preamp allows you to record your input audio to your computer via the USB output as well as monitoring back your recorded signals back through the ART USB and the two 1/4-inch monitor outputs. Using standard USB coding, the ART USB Dual Pre is class-compliant, allowing you to connect to any laptop or desktop device without the need for any drivers, allowing you to simply plug in, switch on and record. A USB cable is also provided eliminating the need for any additional purchases.
Expertly designed, the latency time between your audio input and the USB output is typically under two milliseconds, meaning you will always be on time with your parts when recording and won't need to make any adjustments to your recorded signals in post-production. Recorded in high-quality digital information, the USB output can be configured to either 44.1 or 48kHz sampling frequency at 16-bit to make sure the standards are met for most recording applications.
Wide range of recording applications
For the home-studio musician, the ART USB Dual Pre offers an excellent solution for delivering high-quality audio in a compact and intuitive format. Both dynamic and condenser microphones can be used through the preamplifier thanks to the phantom power option and with an extremely low level of noise, high headroom and up to +48dB of clean and consistent gain, you will be able to capture the detail of any sound source you need to record. As the ART USB Dual Pre is operational via a battery, USB power or an external adapter, it makes it the ideal companion for the travelling musician. Whether you're backstage, on-stage or at rehearsals, you will be able to record your performance in stunning quality and listen back to this at any time to improve the experience for your audience. Compact and lightweight, this is a must-have for any intermediate or beginner musicians.
