Product Ref: 192224
The MPC series from Akai changed the face of music from its inception. Its unique sampling capabilities and intuitive drum pads made it one of the most ground-breaking pieces of musical equipment ever made. Now, with the MPC Studio you can experience the fluid playability and classic feel of the MPC pads, right from the comfort of your computer.
At the heart of the MPC Studio is the velocity-sensitive backlit pads which you can use to chop samples, play melodies, trigger chords and program drums. The high-grade design and years of development give the pads a feel that only the MPC has. Backlit with RGB lighting, you can use the different colours to coordinate sound banks or samples to help when recording in performances. Not only is the MPC Studio great for music production it can also be a great tool for live sets, allowing you to trigger sounds and even play full songs using the various banks and powerful effects on offer.
As well as the pads, the MPC Studio features a built-in touch strip controller which can be used to modulate virtual instruments and more. For example, dragging your finger up and down the touch strip whilst assigned to the pitch function within your selected plugin, will allow you to create fluid pitch bends for a more human sound. As well as being great for humanising virtual instruments, you can assign the touch strip to virtually any parameter within a virtual plugin. Use it to control the roll of your hi-hats whilst playing them in or use it to automate the LFO of a bass patch within a synth; the possibilities are endless!
The crisp and vibrant display allows you to focus on your production whilst checking settings at a glance. Using the colour screen you can zoom in on waveforms, browse through your sounds, scroll through virtual instruments, find plugins and more. It minimises the need to jump from the MPC to the computer, allowing you to focus on the music.
Included with the MPC Studio is the Akai MPC2 software which is a powerful and versatile DAW (digital audio workstation) that you can use to create full song arrangements, chop and stretch samples, edit audio and more. The intuitive interface makes it easier than ever to get creating your next masterpiece, providing advanced MIDI editing capabilities bundled with a range of premium-quality instruments and sound packs. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just starting on your musical journey, the MPC2 software provides you with everything you need.
Complete with the MPC2 software is a host of world-class plugins and effects which you can use to get started. Within MPC Studio you will find over 100 instrument and effect plugins with genre-defying, world-classic sounds and presets to capture your inspiration. Loop content is also included from heavyweight producers such as Rawcutz, MVP Loops, Decap and more.
The AIR Vocal Suite is a comprehensive set of vocal effect plugins including vocal tuning, doubling and harmonizer plugins. You can also tweak your way to a perfect master track using the myriad of sounds and presets on offer.
Not only have the BX5-D3’s been designed with military grade materials, but also with military precision. The 5” Kevlar woofer is the ideal material to produce high quality sound, being both rigid enough to project low end frequencies and light enough to give clear transient responses. The 1” dome tweeter is also made of silk, for an incredibly fast response, meaning the high frequencies are reproduced with clear definition, allowing you to hear every part of your mix.
The speaker casing has been carefully designed for its purpose. The tweeter sits within a custom waveguide, allowing for a controlled dispersion of sound, instead of just pockets of high end like other speakers. The rear-mounted bass port is also designed to give a defined bass response and extension. This means the BX5-D3 can make a truly full 3D soundscape.
The BX5-D3’s have been developed to give tremendous sound reproduction in any environment. If used in a small room, bass frequencies can build up corners and bounce off surfaces. This gives the false impression of too much or too little bass in your mix, meaning it will not translate to other systems or environments well. The Acoustic Space Control feature offers 3 types of low frequency attenuation (56Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz), allowing you to get a clear representation of low end clarity in your mix.
A blue LED on the front of the monitors is designed to find the best listening position as easy as possible, the blue LED will shine at it’s brightest when you have found the sweet spot. This allows for uncompromised accuracy and critical evaluation, to truly get the best out of your production.
Both the tweeter and woofer in the BX5-D3s are independently powered by their own Class A/B internal amplifiers. Each amplifier has been tailored to the frequency range it handles, whilst still complimenting the other amplifier. With a finely-tuned crossover point, this guarantees each driver handles the frequencies it is meant to, making for powerful and cohesive sound.
These are M-Audio’s most efficient monitors to date. Boasting a collective 100 watts of power, headroom is no problem for the D3’s. The higher headroom allows for the volume to be increased, without any distortion of the sound. The additional power not only means you can listen to your mixes at a slightly louder level for referencing (we do not recommend listening at a high level for long time periods), but they are also great to use as general media speakers.
The Duo features M-Audio's trademarked Crystal preamps. Thanks to their low-noise and ultra-transparent design, you'll be able to capture performances exactly how you hear them in the room. With stellar A/D conversion and 16-bit resolution, it'll feel just like the artist is sitting right next to you. They provide an expansive dynamic range that relays every last nuance with an incredible degree of accuracy.
Whether you're using headphones or monitors, the Duo allows you to monitor in real-time, free from latency so you can record new ideas, or add to existing productions. Flick the switch on the front of the sleek, black fascia to toggle between the wet and dry signal. The on-board headphone and monitor knobs allow you to adjust the volume of each independently without having to compromise.
No problem. Eleven Lite provides you with the finest amp emulations possible. From subtle to overdriven, this plugin does it all, and then some. The wide range of virtual amplifiers and cabinets on offer serves to suit your ever changing needs. Whether you're demoing ideas, or collaborating on a fully-realised production, you'll be hard pushed to tell this plugin apart from the real thing.
Broaden your creative horizons with Xpand!2. This synthesizer is incredibly versatile, it provides you with a comprehensive library of instruments to enrich your productions and performances. Drums, keys, strings, synths, organs, pianos. You name it, Xpand!2 has it. Each preset has been designed by the very best developers to ensure that they not only sound like the real thing, they play like them too!
The Marantz MPM-1000 lets you capture high quality, detailed audio with a high sensitivity pickup. Thanks to the smooth frequency response, you’ll hear the subtle nuances often missed by similar mics on the market. Whether you're making podcasts, creating videos, or producing music, you’ve got studio-quality for use with your favourite DAW.
No background noise. No disturbances. The MPM-1000 features a cardioid polar pattern for precise recording, offering maximum gain before feedback. It’s ideal for recording closely-spaced subjects and live performances, isolating a singular sound source with ease. That means noise coming from elsewhere in the room won’t get in the way of your take.
