Key Features
The Analogue Systems RS-430 Distortion Module is a distortion module with voltage control of drive and wet/dry mix and a unique ability to mix the wet signal in phase with or inverted with respect to the dry signal. The RS-430 offers a warm, analogue overdrive perfect for adding grit and rawness to your sound sources. As well as being optimised for modular use, the RS-430 can also be used as a conventional overdrive/distortion unit and is suitable for use with external sources such as a guitars or bass recreating the famous fuzz sound making the RS-430 a versatile tool for your home setup.

The Analogue Systems' RS-430 Distortion Module recreates many vintage synthesizer sounds. If you control the amount of overdrive by routing the output from the contour generator driving the audio VCA to the CV-IN DRIVE input of the the distortion unit you can produce numerous 1960's and 1970's timbres. The result of routing like this means that the amount of drive is proportional to the patch's audio output level basically mimicking the relationship between signal level and distortion, a concept that happened in early synthesizer circuitry.
The RS-430 features a INV/NON INV switch allowing you to change the phase relationship between the unaffected and distorted signals. When position to INV the distorted signal is mixed 180 degrees out of phase to the input signal and when positioned to NON INV the distorted signal is mixed in phase which changes the timbre of your signal depending on where the switch is positioned.
