This high-performance 5'' studio reference monitor delivers exceptional audio quality thanks to its premium quality components and design aspects. The aktiv 05 provides you with a 5'' Kevlar LF driver for an unparalleled low-mid response, delivering a punchy and thick sound that will translate well on other systems.

The 1'' silk dome tweeter delivers impressive high-end response, delivering articulate highs whilst retaining the clarity and sparkle needed for the higher frequency range. The 2-way speaker system culminates in a transparent yet powerful output, perfect for mixing and mastering purposes.

Controls and connections

The ESI aktiv 05 also features a range of controls and connections to improve your monitor's performance as well as connecting it to other devices such as audio interfaces. One of the most unique features on the speaker is the range of frequency response controls that can help you to isolate certain frequencies or eliminate others while mixing and mastering.

The treble attenuation adjustment control allows you to match your monitor your room's own acoustic requirements, allowing you to cater to the space you are working in for a better performance from the monitor. The bass roll-off adjustment control allows you to match the monitor better to a subwoofer, allowing you to improve the performance of an entire system rather than just your monitor. Additionally, there is the standard volume level which is controlled by a rotary knob on the rear of the monitor.

There is also an XLR and TS 1/4'' combo connector featuring balanced and unbalanced input. This connection allows you to connect your speakers to an audio device such as a computer or an audio interface. The connections can also be used to link multiple monitors or subwoofers together to create a full system.

The ESI MoCo Monitor Controller is the ideal centrepiece for any home studio or project studio. The MoCo provides a simple and affordable solution for controlling your studio monitor’s volume levels. The streamlined design features a large rotary wheel for controlling your overall levels with immense precision.

The fully-passive design of the ESI MoCo, means there are no active components in the design. This means there is no way the controller could alter the audio signal, ensuring optimal signal integrity and exceptional audio fidelity. It features dual stereo I/O, allowing you to control two different sources at once, for added versatility.

Portable design, versatile connectivity

The compact and highly portable design makes the ESI Monitor Controller ideal for the producer/musician on the move. It provides you with mono balanced 1/4-inch TRS I/O, dual mono balanced RCA inputs and stereo unbalanced 1/8-inch mini-jack I/O. This versatile connectivity means you can control up to two sources at once, making it ideal for checking between different audio sources such as speakers and studio monitors.

The premium-grade potentiometer provides passive volume control, and the A/B input selection switch allows you to toggle between input sources. There is also an L/R switch for swapping left and right audio channels. The ergonomic and clean design not only looks good but is designed to last.
