The 8030C is a compact yet powerful nearfield monitor capable of delivering over 104 dB SPL short-term, with consistent clarity across the frequency spectrum. Its precision tuning ensures a flat response with minimal coloration, even in untreated rooms. Thanks to its ±2 dB frequency accuracy and low harmonic distortion, every nuance of your mix can be heard clearly and confidently.

Each driver is powered by a dedicated 50 W amplifier, and the active crossover at 3 kHz keeps the frequency bands tightly controlled. This monitor delivers articulate bass response, a smooth midrange, and crisp highs, allowing you to make mixing decisions with certainty.

Smart power and connectivity

The 8030C includes Genelec’s Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) circuit, which automatically powers the speaker down to standby when no audio signal is present. This saves energy during downtime and reactivates the speaker instantly once signal returns. Manual operation is also available using the onboard switch for studios preferring constant control.

Balanced XLR input ensures stable and noise-free connection, compatible with both professional and semi-pro gear. The rear panel features a variable sensitivity knob so you can match your monitor level to the source output without additional gain staging complications.

Customise your sound with tone controls

To help adapt the 8030C to different acoustic environments, Genelec includes a set of adjustable tone controls on the back panel. These include desktop low-frequency attenuation, treble tilt, bass roll-off, and bass tilt. Whether your speaker is placed on a desk, near a wall, or in a reverberant room, these options allow you to fine-tune the response to achieve a more accurate listening experience.

For example, the Bass Tilt control offers -2 dB, -4 dB or -6 dB reduction at 100 Hz, while the Desktop control applies a -4 dB dip at 160 Hz to compensate for reflections. Adjusting these settings ensures your monitors sound consistent and accurate across various studio setups.

Flexible placement and rugged build

Designed for studio and mobile use, the 8030C includes Genelec’s Iso-Pod table stand, allowing the monitor to be tilted for proper acoustic alignment while decoupling it from reflective surfaces. It also includes threaded mounts for microphone stands or wall brackets, making it suitable for fixed installations or portable rigs. The die-cast aluminium MDE enclosure reduces unwanted resonance and features a rear reflex port for controlled low-end extension. Combined with its compact size and low self-noise of under 5 dB SPL, the 8030C is perfectly suited for quiet control rooms or detailed nearfield monitoring in small spaces.
