Golden Age Project COMP-3A JR Overview
The Golden Age Project COMP-3A JR is a compact and vintage-style compressor that provides warm, character-filled sound to add classic analog sound to any source. Featuring transformer-balanced input and output stages, the COMP-3A JR still provides the sought-after transformer saturation of analog compressors in an even more affordable unit than Golden Age's already successful COMP-3A thanks to the use of an integrated opto-coupler, instead of an independent optical cell.
Taking inspiration from another favourite vintage compressor, the 3A offers smooth optical compression often associated with 2A units and adds a snappier transient response associated more with FET compression. High-pass filtering on the sidechain allows you to compress less of the low-frequencies for improved clarity on bass and kick drums. Featuring the same discrete circuitry design rarely seen outside of expensive boutique units, Golden Age Project's COMP-3A JR delivers smooth, colourful compression that works well on anything.
