IK Multimedia are renowned for their revolutionary guitar amp and effects modelling. From 2002, IK spent years studying and perfecting guitar and amp recording. Meticulously recreating the tones and sounds of some of the most classic gear on the market, from the most iconic manufacturers.
The introduction of the AXE IO bridges the gap between interfacing and amp modelling. This premium-grade interface is designed specifically with guitarists in mind. The interface comes complete with AmpliTube 4 Deluxe and a selection of the 10 of the most popular T-RackS processors to get you started straight out of the box. It also features a custom ‘Z-Tone’ input which has been specially developed for the AXE I/O (see below for more details.)
The thing that sets the AXE IO apart from conventional guitar interfaces is the exclusive triple-topology complete with a fully discrete input circuit with both PURe and JFET input stages. This allows you to achieve multiple tones from the same interface.
For example you can toggle between PURE and JFET input stage to change between a transparent and tube-like sounds with a single switch.
One of the most unique features is the custom Z-Tone impedance-adapting circuit. This exclusive, versatile circuit interacts with your guitar pickups to provide a wide range of tonal options. It even features a dedicated output for an amplifier so you can process your real guitar amps and stomps without the need for external devices.
The interface even features a built-in tuner to aid you when it comes to practising and tuning your guitar. The fully assignable data-knob can be used to browse presets and control functions within your music software for added flexibility.
The AXE IO delivers best-in-class conversion with superior analog circuity to achieve maximum audio fidelity and performance. The sampling rate can range up to 192kHz, capturing every nuance from your input source with incredible attention to detail. It can also process audio up to 117dB, allowing you to input even the hottest sources with peace of mind.
The compact and robust design means you can take the AXE IO wherever you go. From creating riffs on the move to your home studio, the rugged metal housing can withstand the rigors of extensive use. The interface boasts a wide range of connectivity, including ultra-low-noise Class A microphone preamps for incorporating microphones and other line-in instruments.
The rear panel features two balanced monitor out/ 2 line outputs and a reference headphone output for monitoring your signals. Also included is MIDI I/O for use with MIDI-based controllers and keyboards.
The AXE I/O comes complete with their own AmpliTube 4 Deluxe amp modelling software to get you started. AmpliTube 4 features a collection of 14 amp and pedal simulations, providing incredible realism and a wide range of tonal options. The AXE IO is designed to seamlessly integrate with AmpliTube and other IK Multimedia software.
Also included is a selection of two of the best sounding T-RackS 5 processors, including some of the most popular outboard gear for mixing guitars, bass, vocals and other instruments.
Ableton Live Lite 10 allows you to record, mix and edit compositions on the fly. This streamlined DAW allows you to easily get your ideas down and even create full songs with the tones from your AXE IO.
