A speaker with the benefits of three-way monitor design

The innovative design of the IN-8 means the mid-range and tweeter are combined using hyper-realistic imaging, providing all the advantages of three-way monitor design. Because of this, the IN-8 monitor provides an incredibly accurate soundstage for mixing.

Kali’s LP-8 monitor was a huge success and the same woofer and tweeter are used in the IN-8’s. The IN-8 adds a midrange that surrounds the tweeter. Acting as its waveguide, the result is a speaker with frequencies arriving more accurately at the ear. This can have a positive impact on your mixing and allow you to mix for longer.

Superb stereo image

By using the mid-range speaker as a waveguide, the stereo image of the IN-8 is extremely accurate. The waveguide determines the horizontal and vertical coverage of the monitor. When working on studio monitors, this stereo image is crucial for your workflow and helps create a mix that will correspond well on other devices. Three-way monitors, like the IN-8, create a superb stereo image by ensuring no frequency information is lost, creating a much more accurate sound for the listener.

Low distortion for defined lows and highs

The three-way design of the IN-8’s allows for a low crossover of 330Hz on the bass woofer. This lowers the workload on the 8-inch woofer, resulting in less distortion and an extended low-range to 37Hz. Similarly, the crossover for the tweeter is 3kHz. This reduces distortion in the high frequencies and produces a natural sound with extreme clarity. A low noise port tube located beneath the woofer helps create powerful lows without intrusive port noise.

Optimise your monitor setup

Speaker position can dramatically affect both performance and accuracy. The Boundary EQ control on the IN-8 helps you achieve the optimum sound for your studio. Easy to follow instructions located on the back of the IN-8 ensure this process takes little time. Low and high frequency trims can also be utilised to ensure your IN-8 is optimised for the setting.

Connection to your monitors can be done via balanced XLR or TRS inputs. An unbalanced RCA input can be set to -10du sensitivity for quick connection to smartphones and laptops.

Intuitive design

The MV-BT integrates into any home audio or studio setup. A simple control panel on top of the unit allows the MV-BT to measure just 14cm in length. To pair the unit with your device, simply press the Kali logo. This is only required the first time you connect your device. This gives you access to professional monitor audio without sitting at your desk. Alternatively, the AUX input located on the side of the MV-BT, can be used to connect your device.

Independent volume control

The MV-BT displays a blue LED indicating volume level. The level can be manipulated with the weighted knob completing the interactive top panel. This volume control is independent to your device, allowing you to keep the device volume at a set level. Maximum device volume level is recommended to help you access the full capabilities of the MV-BT. The independent volume control also gives you the freedom to connect directly to speakers or run the MV-BT through a mixing console. This means you can mix Bluetooth audio with your mixer EQ.

A range of inputs and outputs

The back panel of the Kali MV-BT features balanced stereo TRS and XLR outputs. This helps the MV-BT to seamlessly integrate into your current setup. This also removes the need for cable converters, which in turn can preserve the audio signal. The balanced outputs also allow you to run longer cables without risking added noise. Also located on the rear of the MV-BT is the 5V DC power input for the included power unit.
