Key Features
Adored by the likes of Ethan Johns and Gillian Welch. The Neumann TLM 49 Microphone Set is a must have for your collection. Thanks to its full frequency response, the TLM 49 is able to reproduce any voice or instrument with an incredible degree of accuracy. So much so that upon later playback you'll be forgiven for forgetting you're not in the same room as the artist.
Drums, double bass, amplifiers, vocals, strings, pianos...the list goes on. You name it, this microphone excels on it. The TLM 49 provides an incredibly focused sound with excellent off-axis rejection of up to 6dB at the sides via its cardioid polar pattern. This proves particularly useful in live, multi-instrument recordings.
The perfect blend of heritage and technical innovation, the TLM 49 is a real show stopper. Its modern circuitry provides noise-free operation for the finest sound reproduction possible, whilst the legendary K 47 capsule allows any source to cut through the mix to be heard loud and proud. Become part of the legend today!

Forgoing a traditional output transformer, the TLM 49 boasts an electronic circuit. Made from only the finest components, the circuitry's design ensures excellent rejection and prevents any interference that may compromise the quality of the balanced audio output. Thanks to the TLM 49's ability to handle SPLs of up to 129dB before distorting, the condenser microphone proves particularly excellent up-close on amplifiers, choirs and drums. Its full-frequency response ensures it will relay every single nuance without any compromises.
Although the TLM 49 is a product of modern technical innovation, Neumann are proud when it comes to their heritage. That's why the microphone boasts a K 47 capsule. Yes, really. The K 47 capsule is the very same capsule that was used in the revered M 49 and U 47 microphones, both of which are still in high-sought-after and live in some of the world's most famous recording studios.
Any source will be able to cut through the mix while ever the TLM 49 is in front of it. The K 47 capsule offers a subtle presence boost of around 3dB just above 2kHz. What's more, the premium large mesh grille is built to offer optimised protection against plosives and sibilance to ensure you spend less time fixing and more time mixing!
