Even if you don't know its name you've certainly heard one. There's good reason why the Neumann U47 Fet Studio Condenser Microphone is the go-to microphone for many award winning artists and producers. From Frank Sinatra to Kate Bush, and Al Schmitt to George Martin, the U47 has played a prominent role in the shaping of popular music on both sides of the Atlantic. Whether you're in Abbey Road or Blackbird, you can guarantee a U47 will be around.
Thanks to its cardioid design, the U47 provides a focused sound with incredible rejection of undesirable off-axis noise and ambience. Drums, bass, strings, amplifiers, vocals, you name it, this large diaphragm will deliver the results time and time again. Thanks to its detailed frequency response and wide dynamic range, the U47 is able to relay every last detail with an incredible degree of accuracy.
The on-board filter and attenuation switch allows you to get the sound right at source so you spend more time mixing, and less time fixing! Included with this microphone is a high-quality wooden case with special packaging and an individual certificate that documents the serial number of the microphone. Become part of the legend today.

The U47 features a K47 style capsule. This provides an excellent dynamic response and wide frequency range. The subtle presence boost around 2kHz is perfect for pushing any voice or instrument to the forefront of the mix, without sounding harsh or brittle. The U47's relatively flat response ensures the microphone responds well to any form of equalisation and is an excellent starting point to achieve great sounding recordings.
One advantage the U47 has over tube-based microphones is its solid-state design. This minimises the risk of distortion on dynamic performances and provides an overall, more detailed sound. If you're not convinced place the microphone in front of any kick drum. You'll be in awe at its ability to capture the power and vibrancy of the drum whilst still sounding wholly natural.
