Brought to life through meticulous modelling processes, the Fat Vintage 3 EQ Plug-in delivers the exact tones as you would expect to find on the hardware counterpart, imprinting the same grit and character to your tracks.
Covering the entire spectrum, the Fat Vintage 3 EQ is divided into three sections. A low-shelf that ranges between 35-220Hz adds power and energy to weak and anaemic tracks or can be used to tame unwanted rumble from your room microphones. The most important part of your signal, the midrange features a semi-parametric design with a five-step frequency selection from 03.5 to 7.2kHz and includes an additional Hi Q function to tighten the Q-factor. Ideal for complicated midrange instruments such as vocals and electric guitar, the Vintage 3 allows you to nail the musicality of your melodic instruments. Adding brightness and articulation, the Vintage 3 features a high-shelf ranging from 10 - 16kHz, ideal for detailed violins and female lead vocals. A common compressor-type, the Fat Tube P1B Compressor Plug-in captures the exacting sonic imprint and character from the hardware counterpart an d distils it down into plug-in format. An industry mainstay, the optical compressor offers a unique response and tonality when compared to other compressors. Designed so that the input signal directly correlates to the output, the P1B Compressor is source-dependent with the input frequency affecting the reaction and tonality of the compression. This design inserts an amount of non-linearity to create non-standardised results, creating a unique experience for each instrument and mix you run through your PreSonus Tube P1B.
As a result of the optical detection path, the P1B Compressor Plug-in displays a soft knee response. The knee of a compressor refers to the transition point around the compressor's threshold where the output becomes attenuated versus the input. The soft knee and program-dependent response allow for a smoother and more gradual transition to compression, making it ideal for audio with fewer transients such as vocals, melodic piano or strummed acoustic instruments.
