The Sherman Filterbank II COMPACT is a smaller, compact version of the original Filterbank II. The Filterbank II COMPACT includes all the features of the original, squashed into a space saving solution for your studio. The compact design, ensures it can be easily fitted into any workspace. The Filterbank II builds on the success of the original Filterbank, with a range of new features and improvements. The Filterbank II is an analog filter and distortion system. Featuring a wide range of filters and parameters, the Filterbank II is ideal for sound processing, effect mixing, and more. The Filterbank II is comprised of independent low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filters, complete with frequency and ADSR controls. This 2nd version now includes 5 extra switches and 1 extra input for a footpedal. The internal circuitry has also been improved for enhanced audio quality, providing added clarity and power. Additionally, the Filterbank II features a VCA overdrive and FM input.

Compact Design

The Sherman Filterbank II now comes in a more compact design, adding the inputs/outputs onto the top for easy access, whilst making it thinner, allowing it to fit more easily into your workspace. The Filterbank II COMPACT works exactly the same and includes the same features as the normal Filterbank II. The compact size is more ideal for producers and engineers with minimal space, or wanting a more portable device.

Improved Design & Functionality

The Sherman Filterbank II COMPACT provides you with 5 new switches, and an extra input for a footpedal. Other new additions include 2 new LEDs, and an improved varnish layer. The internal electronics have also been upgraded and optimised to achieve exceptional audio fidelity and performance. A 3-way switch has now been added on the input stage, allowing for high boosts and high cuts. A dedicated switch for 'Sensitrig' and 'Limit' have been added, which change the way the filters work, even allowing for self-oscillation if the input stage is overdriven to the extreme.

Powerful Filtering & Distortion

The Filterbank II COMPACT is ideal for sound processing and effect mixing. As well as providing a range of filters including low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filters, the system also features resonance, frequency, and ADSR controls. These parameters can be toggled between parallel or serial. The second filter boasts a 6-octave switch, which can also be synchronised with the first filter for optimal flexibility. The ADSR generator for the filter features an external output, allowing you to use it with more filter banks or other modular equipment. The overdrive circuit is comprised of a VCA overdrive complete with AR generator and a ring modulator input.

In-Depth Controls

The retro-style attenuators feature colour-coded lines for quick and easy access. The attenuators are designed for optimal precision when it comes to dialing in your required levels. A 3-way switch is included for the powerful tracking function. This acts as a monophonic pitch follower, tuning the second filter to the incoming pitch, in turn making the first filter a slave of the second via the harmonics switch. You can change the way this function reacts to a normal or deep position, resulting in a powerful and punchy low-end. A 3-way function switch is also included for the LFO section, allowing you to use the sawtooth wave shape as a re-trigger, forcing the LFO to restart from the AR trig.

Design & Connectivity

The Sherman Filterbank II COMPACT features an even more compact design to the original Filterbank II, enabling it to be easily transported. Inputs and outputs have been moved to the top for easier access, allowing you to quickly change connections. The highly compact design makes the Filterbank II COMPACT ideal for both studio and stage applications. The versatile filtering and distortion unit features a range of new LED indicators including a 5mm big green LED indicating when an effect is in use on the 'FB 2'. An extra white LED is designed to indicate when the tracking system in locked on for added flexibility. The rear of the unit features a wide range of connectivity including MIDI I/O. There is also a range 1/4'' connections for the main out, trigger AM, ADSR, signal input, and more.
