Mid-side recording – capture a picture with sound

Mid-side recording is a unique technique used to capture immersive stereo sound. It provides the means to adjust the stereo image’s width. It can even be edited in post-production. The specialised design employs two microphone elements including a directional mid microphone. The mid microphone captures signal from directly in front of your device. The bidirectional side microphone capture audio from either side of the device.

This creates a highly detailed and enveloping sound. The microphone features a built-in three-way switch for changing the various stereo width angles. Choose between 90 degree and 120-degree settings to toggle between front and ambient stereo recording. The third setting (M-S) allows you to capture the raw audio, so you can edit it freely in post-production and alter the stereo width.
