Mixed-signal audio processing
Pitchmap is based on Zynaptiq's unique mixed-signal audio processing technology. To work with whole mixes in real-time MAP technology internally de-mixes the input signal into individual sounds, including harmonics and transient, essentially, Pitchmap models the human auditory system to utilise perceptive modelling and pattern recognition techniques that separate sounds to be individually tuning-corrected and mapped to other pitches.
Because Pitchmap utilises what is essentially artificial intelligence within a complex DSP, Pitchmap offers a simple workflow in the intricate process of correcting tuning issues, reharmonisation and restructuring a composition's pitches. This leaves you to handle the creative process, and plug in a MIDI keyboard to play notes and start pitch mapping, or even let the computer do the pitch mapping by using dedicated macro controls to go from one key to another.
Natural
The beauty of Pitchmap is Zynaptiq's focus on natural sounds. Because Pitchmap is modelled after the human auditory system, including the cochlea and the brain region responsible for interpreting its data, pitch mapping always produces a natural sound with the correct settings and reasonable amounts of pitch modification.
Even vocals, which have historically been a challenge to process simultaneously with other instruments, can be precisely manipulated within a mix. Zynaptiq accommodates this by developing layers of intelligence within Pitchmap that recognise voice elements and process them separately; thus vocal processing retains even the most subtle sonic variations of the voice.
Electric and creative
There are a number of popular algorithm artefacts that have become associated with pitch correction, and so Zynaptiq has included these algorithms in Pitchmap. However, multi-signal audio processing has more sonic options than these popular algorithms. For example, the included 'Purify' and 'Electrify' parameters offer the ability to make your mix sound more or less synthetic. Furthermore, Zynaptiq has featured a polyphonic portamento option for glides and a live MIDI function that can essentially turn Pitchmap into a unique synthesiser that can transform your audio.
Comprehensive snapshot functionality
Comprehensive snapshot functionality offers a significant hand in simplifying the workflow of Pitchmap. Eight snapshot slots let you compare multiple saved settings, adapt the process to different parts of a recording individually, and create parameter automation. Basically, you can flip through your saved snapshots with the click of a button, so editing and comparison become a simple and intuitive process.
Reviews
"I feel like Pitchmap is a dream come true for sample-based Hip Hop producers everywhere! How many times have we found that perfect sample or loop, but no matter how hard we tried, it just didn't fit? Now with Pitchmap, I can virtually make any sample fit with the clicks of a few buttons.
PITCHMAP has me digging through all my records again, but with a new perspective." - Frank Vasquez (Music Producer, Recording Engineer and A&R Manager)
"I'm so unbelievably happy to be able to use Pitchmap in this movie, Imaginaerum. It's already on 10 tracks, and I'm only on the first reel. It probably saves days in the end, when you add all the seconds, minutes and hours together. You guys need a Nobel...
Pitchmap is damn near divine and worth worshipping!" - Petri Alanko (Film & Game Composer, Sound Designer)
"Pitchmap is what every musician working with sampled material has always wanted: the ability to adapt a sample to your music, not the other way around. And it's fast and intuitive in doing so. It is mind-blowing how you can instantly change the harmonies in even a full mix. Very inspiring, and highly addictive.
Let me sum that up for you: Pitchmap is awesome!" - Martin Buttrich (Music Producer and Recording Artist)
"PITCHMAP is an extraordinary plug-in. I have longed for a plug-in like this. The ability to process the pitch of individual sounds within a mix in real time is beyond amazing. I love how you can remove or extract individual sounds from the mix, and create crazy harmonic vocoder-like effects while applying different keys and scales.
PITCHMAP has quickly become one of my favourite go-to plug-ins for sound design applications." - Richard Devine (Music Producer, Composer, Recording Artist & Sound Designer)
