Quality student instrument
The body consists of a lightweight and flexible laminate spruce top and a laminate maple back, a popular choice for string instruments because of its durability, versatility and acoustic properties. Featuring a genuine solid ebony fingerboard and fittings which are all extremely strong, smooth and hard wearing, this double bass plays like a dream and will stand up to regular use. The endpin and tailpiece are well made and reliable, whilst the German tooled solid brass tuners make tuning simple.
Rich, deep sound
The combination of spruce, maple and ebony used on the Eastman 80 double bass produces a deep, rich tone which blends well with ensembles and orchestras. The careful design and build ensures a warm and even sound throughout the registers, allowing the player to concentrate purely on performance and technique.
Sized for children
This double bass is 1/2 size which is ideal for children and fits comfortably without effort, allowing them to concentrate solely on their technique and practice. The bridge provides optimum height above the fingerboard making it suitable for both bowing and pizzicato.
Includes bow and case
The Eastman 80 double bass is an affordable and reliable outfit which includes a Presto padded bag and K. Holtz FG bow - everything that you need to get started with your new instrument. Waste no time and play your instrument straight from the box. No inexperienced player can master good techniques using poor equipment, so Eastman have created a durable but affordable bow just like the bass it comes with. This lightweight bow has great balance and is easy for a new player to get used to. Made from genuine unbleached Mongolian horsehair, this bow produces smooth and clean sounds.
The soft case features a superior padded interior to help keep your instrument safer for longer as well as protected during travel - perfect for a student carrying their instrument to and from lessons. This case includes backpack straps to make carrying considerably easier. The case also has a canvas cover exterior which protects against poor weather conditions, a zip to secure the instrument inside the case, and music pockets so the avid learner has space for all of their sheet music.
