The UB804 is part of the Ibanez Bass Workshop range and is designed to give upright players a portable solution to playing the double bass. The UB804 has a 1/4 scale 34'' string length and a compound radius fingerboard, delivering the authentic upright bass experience in a compact form - perfect for electric players and students. The strings are mounted with an MR4 Mono Rail Bridge for optimum string vibration transfer, while the maple body and maple/walnut neck deliver bright and resonant tonal characteristics.
The UB804 is equipped with an AeroSilk piezo pickup for a natural amplified tone. Volume and tone controls let you shape the sound from directly onboard the instrument, while the modified piezo pickup design can detect the different string vibrations from different playing techniques - modifying the output for an equalized level. Whether playing bowed or pizzicato, you'll be assured a smooth and even tone with the UB804.
The UB804 comes complete with a TAMA Roadpro tripod stand for live performance. The stand features full adjustability, so you can easily play stood up or sat down. The UB804 comes with a gig bag for the bass itself, and an extra case for the tripod and for your bow, giving you a complete package that is highly portable. This is the ideal setup for double bassists on the move, occasional upright players in musical theatre or on function gigs, students, travelling players, and anyone else who needs a compact and lightweight instrument with the authentic double bass sound and playing experience.
For the past 30 years, Ibanez has been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players who push at the boundaries of music and technical ability. Ibanez's designers and luthiers are the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination by consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments available. While Ibanez guitars have been made since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980s that Ibanez began to hone its identity when prolific artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez is a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for dedicated musicians.
