Contemporary design

When designing the Concept mouthpiece, Selmer wanted something brand new. Something that would turn heads. And something that would stand the test of time. To overcome this, they worked closely with famed saxophonist and Professor at the CNSM, Claude Delangle, to produce this revolutionary design.

The overall design of the Concept is based on the flowing lines of a water drop. These curves reflect the pure and natural tone of the mouthpiece. To ensure each and every mouthpiece is made to the highest standard, the rubber is milled using an advanced Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine. This machine then transforms the rubber into this stylish and modern mouthpiece. Once milled, each mouthpiece is finished by hand to guarantee stability and accuracy.

Time for an upgrade?

If you've just purchased your first saxophone, there's a good chance the included mouthpiece will bottleneck your musical development. These cheap factory mouthpieces are made without care and attention, and can often sound lifeless. Compared to the Selmer Concept, from the moment you play your first note, you'll notice how easily this mouthpiece speaks across all registers. It really does take the stress out of recitals, and lets you concentrate on what matters - the music.
