By using the historic combination of Maple and Spruce for the body, Master Xue Ping Hu has faithfully replicated Stradivari's original designs. The one-piece, slab cut back boasts a broad figure and is simply scintillating to look at. The top boasts a fine-grained Spruce with a regular even grain which broadens slightly towards the flanks. These woods are hand-selected based on their age and width of grain before being hand-carved for a sound and appearance that is full of history. For the perfect finish, the violin is varnished to emphasise the clarity and perfection of the wood.
As one of Poland's leading virtuosos, Henryk Wieniawski's musical potential was discovered at a young age. After being accepted into the Paris Conservatoire at the age of nine years old, Wieniawski soon went on to tour extensively and give many recitals.
In 1860, Wieniawski accepted an invitation from Anton Rubinstein to move to St. Petersburg. Between 1860 and 1872, he taught many violin students and even led the Russian Musical Society's orchestra and string quartet. After touring American alongside Rubinstein, Wieniawski then replaces Henri Vieuxtemps as violin professor at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in 1875.
As well as a virtuoso, Henryk Wieniawski was also a composer. His works are considered very important in the violin repertoire due to their demanding nature. In 1935, the International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition took place and has been held every five years since 1952.
Larsen Virtuoso strings are a favourite among musicians thanks to their comfortable feel and endless tonal opportunities. By using the latest core materials combined with a silver winding, the Virtuoso strings produce a clear sound full of subtle complexities. Set up by a master luthier, the Wieniawski violin has been set up with care and precision to ensure the violin is ready to play.
The Marco Raposo violin bow demonstrates elegance and durability with a timeless feel. This bow combines intricate handcrafting methods with modern technological advancements for an impression that’s both familiar and consistent. Silver lapping and mountings give this bow a more weighted feel and attractive look, while the rounded stick is ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip. The Brazilian pernambuco wood stick translates the subtle nuances and expression in your performance for an open weight on the strings.
Also included in this outfit is a Negri Classic 2 violin case made with a wooden frame and water-repellent nylon canvas cover. The Negri Classic 2 features carry straps so the case can be used as a backpack. The case has a velvet interior with two large accessory pockets and features a high-quality lock to keep your instrument safe and secure.
