The world's most popular baritone saxophone just got an upgrade! The Yamaha YBS 62 baritone sax keeps the amazing qualities that artists have come to adore, whilst bringing improvements in ergonomics and intonation. The legend just got better.
The key to the YBS 62 is comfort. Yamaha reduced the weight of the keys whilst also making them more ergonomic, to ensure that you're comfortable at all times. They also trimmed some length from the bell in order to reduce the weight and improve the overall response. Around the back of this bari sax, you'll find the new strap ring. This ring is perfectly balanced to help you play in a natural and comfortable position. For the perfect finish, this bari saxophone features a gorgeous new design of Campsis Chinensis engraved on the bell.

The Yamaha YBS62 is one of the best options for the advancing baritone saxophone player. Yamaha has improved the mechanism by redesigning the front F, low A, octave key, palm keys, upper and lower table keys. This improvement enables the saxophone to respond better across the whole range, but especially the low register.
To further enhance the tone of the saxophone, Yamaha has introduced a 62-style neck to the YBS62. Known in the industry for providing a smooth and polished tone, this neck is sure to enhance the playing of any keen sax player.
Everything about the YBS62 baritone saxophone has been designed to maximise comfort while playing. Firstly, Yamaha shortened the bell on the YBS62 which provides a consistent sound across all registers. This also resulted in the sax being lighter and therefore easier to handle.
Yamaha understands that most baritone saxophone players start learning on the alto or tenor first. This is why Yamaha designed the key layout to be lighter and more ergonomic, so transitioning from other models is an effortless experience. The keys have even been moved closer together so the saxophone is easier to handle.
At the bottom of the Yamaha YBS62 baritone sax, you'll find their new peg design. Although not included, having the option to play with a peg is a great advantage for bari sax players. Around the back of the sax, you'll find Yamaha's new strap-ring positioning which provides you with a more natural playing style.
Yamaha's top-level instruments are known for having an outstanding build quality - the YBS62 is no exception. To give the brass body optimum density, it undergoes a unique acoustic annealing process. This helps to enhance the model's playability and makes it more comfortable to hold. It also provides a consistent level of resistance across the range of the saxophone.
