The Yamaha YCL-622 Bass Clarinet, Low C is Yamaha's premier bass clarinet model. Perfect for the advanced student or professional clarinettist, this is a premium option for a first or doubling instrument. With a two-piece body made from carefully selected Grenadilla wood, this instrument delivers a rich, sonorous tone, whilst the gorgeous, silver-plated bell provides excellent projection and stability. The 24-key Boehm system is optimally set-up to allow for rapid, fluid responsiveness, and the thickened finger-hole covers offer extreme stability at high volumes.
Yamaha's handcrafted professional models are a demonstration of their instrument-building pedigree. In the YCL-622, each tonehole undercut is individually shaped - for a beautifully balanced, remarkably responsive instrument. White leather pads are used, giving the instrument a delicate touch and excellent sealing, which allows for highly expressive capabilities throughout the dynamic range.

The design of the YCL-622 represents Yamaha's finest level of craftsmanship. This top-of-the-line bass clarinet is made from traditional materials, giving it an authentic, classic tone. The body is hewn from carefully selected, seasoned Grenadilla wood, with individually shaped undercut toneholes. This delivers an inimitable, deep, rich timbre, with perfect intonation. The intricate shaping of the silver-plated barrel and bell offer sublime resonance and projection, and fantastic timbres at both ends of the dynamic spectrum.
Improved stability and expression
A rich, stable, and luxurious tone is created by Yamaha's use of thick key plating and durable white leather pads. The thicker plating allows the clarinet highly expressive capabilities, especially when playing at fortissimo dynamics. Meanwhile, the leather pads deliver a rich tonal quality, and their expert set-up gives players a rapid, smooth action, and a buzz-free playing experience. The metal inner tenon sleeves have also been improved for a perfect seal, and the optimum tonal resonance.

The YCL-622 comes with a custom Yamaha ebonite 4C mouthpiece, as well as a silver-plated ligature and mouthpiece cap. A high-quality Yamaha bass clarinet case is also included.
