With a headjoint, body, and footjoint crafted from silver, the YFL472 is designed for advancing musicians. Regularly seen on professional models, this provides a rich and warm tone with incredible projection. The unique CY headjoint by Yamaha has a double flare taper and a unique embouchure hole which helps beginners quickly learn to produce a beautiful sound. Designed for excellence, even advanced players are able to appreciate its even, quick response in all registers. The open hole keys allow you to create more expressive notes, including both half and quarter. The offset G and split-E mechanism allow a more natural hand shape, which is comfortable for all musicians.

Pointed key arm design

All key shapes and placement have been ergonomically designed for a comfortable, natural-feeling performance. Manufacturing processes have been redesigned from the ground up to achieve substantially improved precision that not only leads to greater mechanical accuracy, but also minimizes the need for readjustment over time.

Finished by hand, the new pointed key arm addition gives the flutes an elegant, high class finish similar to that of Yamaha's professional and handmade flute range. They're inspired by a traditional European style for an excellent tone. Yamaha's unique screw resistance inserts allow smooth adjustments while preventing gradual loosening of the screws. For easier access, the screw positioning has been changed.
