This sets the Yamaha YOB431B Intermediate Oboe apart from other intermediate oboes around the same price. The body has been crafted with precision to ensure accurate intonation and a balanced response, so you can enjoy the warm tones of grenadilla wood, articulated at their best.

Easy playability

As the world leaders in music education, the team at Yamaha know their stuff when it comes to making learning fun and easy. That's why, for the YOB431B, they have opted for a semi-automatic octave system with a thumbplate. By pressing the thumbplate down, it holds down two keys on the front of the oboe. This system is ideal for advancing players, as you've got the ease of using the thumbplate but also the right mechanics in place to use conservatoire fingering if you wish.
