The Roland RT-MicS is a revolutionary gadget designed to turn your acoustic drum set into a hybrid kit. The compact and portable device attaches to your snare or tom drum, triggering sounds using a sensor to indicate when the drum is struck. This then triggers a sampled sound, turning your acoustic snare/tom into a totally different sound. The RT-MicS includes eight built-in sounds ranging from a hand-clap to various and versatile snare variations. You can even incorporate your own sounds and samples, using it as a trigger pad for one-shots and more.
The compact device allows you to layer sounds on your snare/tom drum with ease. Once attached to your drum and struck, the RT-MicS plays your chosen electronic sound simultaneously with your acoustic drum. This provides endless possibilities when it comes to triggering sounds. You can layer sounds and blending between hybrid and acoustic sounds to deliver a truly unique tone. You can use the device to do everything from adding a subtle tambourine under your snare drum to triggering a completely different snare sound from your library.
Building on the built-in sounds, you can incorporate your own sounds and sample data. You can import up to eight sounds, each with a maximum length of 10 seconds each. It can be highly useful for live performances, allowing you to layer other instruments or sounds underneath your acoustic drum for live songs. It can eliminate the need to take extra percussion with you, for example you could import a tambourine or shaker sound to make up for the missing percussion.
The Roland RT-MicS also includes an onboard microphone. This allows you to customise and record the sound coming from your drum. This makes capturing live performances easier than ever. You can also use the mic to process, customise and add external effects such as delay or compression for added versatility.
The compact and highly portable design allows you to take your RT-MicS with you to every gig or live performance. It can fit easily within a backpack or even your trouser pocket for the ultimate portability. It features dedicated volume controls for both the electronic and microphone levels.
The flexible outputs allow you to output the electronic sound and capture snare/tone sound separately, which is highly useful for FOH engineers. You can also mute the electronic sound by holding down the large tone select button.
Pearl's Export Series implements their Superior Shell Technology, using a proprietary technique to create the most efficient air chamber possible. Each wood has been chosen due to its acoustic properties and crafted using advanced construction methods to achieve an air-tight fit. Every wood ply is saturated with Pearl's 'AcoustiGlue' which dries to the exact consistency of the wood for maximum resonance. The plies are finally formed in high-temperature moulds under extreme pressure to produce shells which support the perfect balance between strength, exceptional tonal warmth and remarkable resonance.
