Hand-cut 30-degree bearing edges

SJC's Vintage Roundover bearing edges have found favour among drummers who prefer a fatter, drier, rounder tone, including Daniel Platzman of Imagine Dragons and Frank Zummo of Sum 41. These 30-degree edges are hand-cut and honed to deliver the right balance of shell and head contact, for that classically warm, full tone that vintage drums are best known for.

Rock-sized hybrid shells

The Heirloom's 6-ply hybrid shells are built from choice cuts of mahogany, maple, and poplar. Mahogany's warmth, resonance, and projection take centre stage in the Heirloom shell pack, able to fill a room with enveloping low end. Yet the maple and poplar play key roles as well, subtly shaping transients and controlling overtones behind the scenes.
