Key Features
The Premier Genista 13" x 9" Birch Rack Tom marries Premier's iconic sound with a distinct look. Launched in 1994, Genista continues to hold a special place in the heart of drummers. Comprised of a 5.7mm 7-ply maple shell, the 13" x 9" Rack Tom offers an abundance of low frequency energy. Its 3mm undersizing grants quick and easy tuning and an articulate sound when struck that's perfect for melodic fills and passages.
Sporting a bold purple fade sparkle lacquer finish, this visually striking rack tom is built from the finest components including 6 iconic Genista style lugs and Remo UT Pinstripe clear heads. The 2.3mm triple-flange steel hoops also offer great levels of resonance, producing powerful rimshot hits when desired. This complements Premier's unique ISO mounting system that isolates the suspension of the tom, guaranteeing the perfect amount of sustain.

The Premier Genista 13” x 9” Birch Rack Tom is equally comfortable on-the-stage as it is in the rehearsal room and the recording studio. Birch shells are easy to identify due to their bright, articulate sound. Packed full of “weight” and “punch”, they are significantly “fatter” and offer superior projection compared to maple shells.
Although bright, birch shells ensure a smooth well-balanced tone, providing adequate low-end. The sound of the tom is enhanced by the inclusion of Genista style lugs and 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops. These features work in unison to increase the shell’s sustain, making them an ideal choice for both live performances and studio recording, particularly for Pop, Rock and heavier music styles.
Established in England, Premier has been an industry leader in drums and percussion since 1922. From household names like Keith Moon (The Who) and Cassell (The Streets) to rising talent such as Sara Leigh Shaw (The Pearl Harts) and Haydn Evans (Sundara Karma), the number of high-profile drummers proud to sit behind their kits appears seemingly infinite.
Our legacy, your future. The perfect blend of heritage and technical innovation, Premier have remained at the forefront of musical instrument design, providing a legendary sound to drummers and percussionists worldwide since 1922.
