And now for something completely different. It doesn't take a genius to work out that the Bohemian Oil Can guitar is a bit of a standout. Its design is based on improvised tin-can instruments played on the streets of South Africa. Featuring a recycled metal hollow body, it'll provide you with an entirely unique tone that really is unlike anything else out there. The hollow metal body works brilliantly with a pair of custom pickups, delivering an overall sound that's bright, vibrant, and vivid. And the metal construction allows you to add a percussive, steel drum-like element to your playing. Try doing that on a standard electric!
The oil can design may be particularly individual. But don't be fooled - this offering from Bohemian Guitars is no gimmick. Equipped with two supremely powerful humbuckers, you will enjoy a meaty, broad sound that's perfect for heavier playing styles. They're incredibly responsive too, and will give you everything from sparkling, uninterrupted cleans to roaring overdrive at the point of break-up. You've got the best of both worlds.
That metal hollow body? We've already told you it's great for adding a bit of percussion in your playing, and for bringing a truly unique brightness to your tone. But what we haven't said yet is just how full and dominating its resonance is. Every note and chord you strike will ring on and on - and be heard loud and clear. The metal body also features wood bracing for extra stability and strength, meaning this is an instrument that's capable of surviving more than a knock or two.
Never fear. The Bohemian Oil Can guitar may look like nothing you've ever played before. But it's got a familiar playing feel that will instantly make your hands feel at home. The smooth maple neck with a 25.5'' scale length brings you a wonderfully comfortable playing experience. You'll be able to sleekly glide from note to note at even the fastest speeds.
Bohemian Guitars was founded by brothers Adam and Shaun Lee to replicate the improvised guitars that they had seen on the streets of their hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa. After bringing the idea to the USA and making instruments for friends and family, they took the plunge and formed a company with financial backing from KickStarter donations.
Bohemian Guitars produce instruments which have a truly distinctive look and sound. They have a vibrant community of players and endorsers, and an active participation in charity work. They're also committed to environmental sustainability by using partially recycled materials, less wood than typical guitars, and the use of sustainable forests or reclaimed timbers.
