The Dean Exhibition features an all-mahogany body, which offers great durability and delivers incredibly rich, dark, distinct warmth. The Exhibition delivers a focused, punchy mid-range, thick well-defined tone, and sings sweet sparkling highs with plenty of characterised warmth. As a top wood, the mahogany offers a natural compression, creating strong fundamentals with a clear and direct focus. Used as back and sides panels, the tonewood provides a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles.
The Exhibition's neck is constructed from mahogany, offering great durability and resonance. The neck is crafted from mahogany because the wood responds greatly to picking, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. The neck is topped with a ebony fingerboard that delivers a very responsive, bright, snappy and crisp attack coupled with a smooth sustain.
The Dean Exhibition features a slim D shaped neck to provide the comfort and feel of an electric guitar. In addition the Exhibition has a thin body to match, enabling players to hold the guitar close to the body and play for long periods of time. The Exhibition's thin body not only provides comfort, but reduces unpleasant feedback when plugged in.
A Florentine cutaway comes into a sharp point, resulting in a horn-like shape. It's a complex design and more labor-intensive to craft than a Venetian because the guitar is originally built as a non-cutaway guitar. The Florentine cutaway provides an edgy appearance and enables players to access higher frets.
The Exhibition comes equipped with Dean's DMT G05 preamp, which provides the ideal setup for the gigging guitarist. The on-board preamp features rotary controls for volume, bass, mid1, mid2, treble, and presence, with the added convenience of a built-in tuner.
