Key Features
An updated classic. The Fulltone Fulldrive V2 only adds to the magic of its predecessors. Giving you more tonal options to explore with added practical and sonic improvements.
...like the unique 'Half-clipped' mode. This distorts less off the bass but really effects the treble, taking it to singing sustain which elicits superb clarity. Also, the silent "pop" switching, meaning that there's no audible click when engaging the pedal. Plus, there's smaller enclosure that gives you a lot more real estate on your pedal board. And it's still built like a tank - tough enough to withstand whatever your gigging regime throws at it. A sensational pedal.

There's so much to play with on the Fulldrive. The toggle switch on the left gives you three distinct voices: ‘comp cut’, ‘flat-mids’, and ‘vintage’. If you want the beautifully touch-responsive feel of the original FD-2 with its signature boosting of even order harmonics, then set this to vintage. This gives you a sound much like that of a class A tube amp. It’s a classic for a reason!
Do you love the sound of the FD-2 but need to rein in those mids? Simply set the toggle switch to flat-mids - ideal if you need to tighten up your sound in a mix. Finally, the comp-cut. This takes the clipping diodes out of the circuit, leaving you with an incredible boost. While not totally clean, its benefit is that it can spill over and start pushing the op-amp, which can give a lush and consistent gain throughout all frequencies - and that’s for only one voice!
The second toggle switch gets you from 'wide', to 'standard', and 'half-clipped'. Wide is a combination of MOSFETs and Schottky diodes, giving less compressed tone with loads of clarity. Think of the classic American amp sound but with a British growl. It gives you a very sweet and thick tone. Standard is rich and warm overdrive with a mid-hump that adds depth, sustain, and width to your tone. And half-clipped provides a unique sound that is exclusive to Fulltone. Clipping half of your signal, it keeps the bass clean and hardly altered but allows the trebles to distort and sustain.
Keith Richards, Pat Smear, and Tom Petty can all attest to the quality of the Fulltone. Petty used this for every show he played from the mid-2000s up until the day he died. And if that doesn't tell you how good it is, what else will?
Even more choice. The Fulldrive comes loaded with a pair of different drive modes. Drive one is your classic overdrive. Drive two, on the other hand, is pretty much an extension of the first mode. With its own mini volume knob (which can make this a powerful boost) and extra gain, it’s essential for cutting, incisive solos.
Well, power supply! This pedal can be run at either 9V or 18V, so if you need a little more headroom from the pedal (like if you're running into a hotter amp), it's right there for you. If you prefer to run this with batteries, then you just need to undo the thumb screws - giving you quick access to the battery compartment. Convenient, easy, and hassle-free!
