The Variax is designed with one thing in mind. Pure versatility. This unique modelling guitar is fitted with special electronics that give you full control over the voicing of your guitar. Firstly, the sound. Using one of the dials on the front of the guitar, you can switch between multiple timbres. These include classic guitar tones modelled off of vintage gear, acoustic sounds, and even exotic instruments like a banjo, or sitar.
Secondly, the tuning. Change the tuning of your guitar instantly. DADGAD, Drop D, and many more. Just turn the dial and play half a step down or in Reso G instantly. If you've got a load of gigs coming up, you'll only need to take one guitar on the road with you. Make it the Variax and fulfil all your needs with one guitar.
Top class construction
Don't let the focus on innovation and electronics detract from the guitar's overall construction. The lightweight alder body is tough and resonates beautifully. The single-piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard sounds snappy and grips wonderfully. Three vintage single-coil pickups translate your riffs perfectly. Even with its wide range of selectable tones available via the mode and tuning controls, the Line 6 Variax features the free Variax Workbench HD software which allows players to create their own custom sounds. Mix and match a wide range of body styles, from solid body and hollow body to semi-hollow, acoustic, and everything in between, with a diverse range of pickups to create your perfect sound.
Set up custom tunings and create up to any number of unique guitar tones to be used when you want. Use the software to simply pick a body shape and pickup, or delve into detailed tone shaping with pickup phase, and individual strong volume, pitch, and muting. This is an incredibly powerful tool giving you minute adjustments of every parameter imaginable, and should give you enough versatility to cover any gig with one instrument.
