Used by bands like Biffy Clyro, Temples, and The Almost. The Peavey Classic clearly displays its adaptability as an amplifier and excels. This is because it can be tuned to suit (almost) any guitar, no matter if it uses, single coils, P-90’s, or humbuckers. This is because of its generous tone-shaping options. From its two inputs, three-band EQ and active presence dial you can fatten up single coils and even get some ‘twang’ out of humbuckers!
A classic channel switcher
The clean channel is loud, punchy, and authoritative which makes it perfect for country, giving a pronounced tone that is as bold as it is beautiful. With plenty of depth and sweet mid-range which complements the nuances of your playing style. These qualities also make it a great pedal platform! Combined with the effects loop, it will satisfy even the most dedicated shoegaze addicts.
The lead channel transforms this amp yet again. Giving you tones that would keep AC/DC happy and with a drive pedal, it could even adapt to metal. But at its core, this is a vintage voice that when subtly dialled gives you highly dynamic touch-sensitive drive that’s highly expressive. This is a core component of reproducing the best ‘tweedy’ blues tones available.
