Solid Sitka Spruce & Mahogany Construction

The Sigma JMC-1STE+ features a solid sitka spruce top, producing a versatile sound that yields crisp and articulate tones, as well as producing a broad dynamic range. In addition, its solid top also delivers focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm mid-range, and bright singing highs. Sitka's versatile nature enables it to accommodate many different genres and playing styles, from lighter fingerpicking styles, to heavier more aggressive strumming patterns. Its solid sitka spruce top is attached to mahogany back and sides, adding resonance and warmth to the guitar's sonic-character. The Sigma's mahogany panels also deliver a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles.

Fishman Isys+ Preamp

The Sigma JMC-1STE+ comes equipped with a Fishman Isys+ preamp system for optional amplified performance, offering tone shaping controls for live and rehearsal settings. The preamp features rotary controls for volume, bass and treble, allowing the player to add a little extra sonic-character to the amplified sound. In addition, the preamp also features a phase button that reduces undesirable feedback when plugged in. As well as all this, the Fishman Isys+ also has a built-in tuner that provides precise and easy tuning whether performing acoustically or amplified.

J-14 Fret Cutaway Body

The Sigma JMC-1STE+ has a J-14 fret cutaway body, which is similar in size and shape to concert guitars, although incorporates a slightly bigger lower bout for a deeper sonic-footprint, a louder acoustic voice, and a rich, full-bodied sound. The J-14 fret body combined with the JMC's mixture of timbers provides the player with a sound more well known as the 'classic' acoustic voice, accommodating numerous genres with ease. Additionally, the overall tone produced is perfect for the player with a versatile style, perfect for both lighter fingerpicking styles, flat-pickers, as well as meatier chords and strumming patterns. Furthermore, the JMC-1STE+ also offers a comfortable playing experience due to its sleek, curvaceous shape and nipped in waist that enable a player to hold the guitar close to the body for a smooth and easy playability. The JMC-1STE+ also provides a comfortable playing experience throughout both seated and standing performances whilst its Venetian cutaway profile makes more challenging chords easy to reach.

Mahogany Neck & Micarta Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the Sigma's neck delivers a resonant rich warmth that responds superbly to many different playing styles with equal ease. Additionally, the neck has a low profile shape for added comfort and a better grip in each position up and down the neck. Furthermore, the neck is topped with a micarta fingerboard which offers a smooth playing experience whilst adding sonically pleasing tones to the guitar's overall sound.

Real Bone Nut

The JMC-1STE+ features a real bone nut, which offers excellent resonance and sustain, along with an authentic appearance. A bone nut also delivers a very balanced tone, and will last a long time. In addition, this type of nut naturally self lubricates and helps you stay in tune for longer.
