They're just good at what they do. Building guitars for over 40 years has brought Taylor a wealth of experience and acclaim. And this expertise is on full show in the 214ce-QS. Mixing a Sitka spruce top with sapele back and sides creates a balanced tonal palette, flexible in application. You'll enjoy bright and mellow textures created by the sapele back and sides, which is a highly sustainable wood that has similar properties to mahogany. It's not all tone, however, the captivating grain of sapele is on full display for a beautiful aesthetic.
Paired with the Sitka top, these woods create a subtle bloom with each note, in addition to offering sonorous projection. It only gets better as these woods will blossom with age - the more you play, the more dynamics and depth you'll discover.
X bracing projection
Underpinning the Sitka top is Taylor's forward shifted bracing. This advanced position serves to allow more of your top to vibrate and resonate freely. It infuses each note with the quality of the tonewoods, enabling you to extract a huge amount of volume with even soft picking.
