The 614ce has a full-sized grand auditorium body with a softly rounded Venetian cutaway. Sitting in between the more traditional dreadnought and concert bodies, the incredibly versatile grand auditorium profile is regarded as Taylor's signature shape, delivering a balanced tone equally suited to all styles of strumming and fingerstyle playing. The Taylor’s maple body makes the guitar bright and loud, allowing each note to sing clearly when playing chords. The solid spruce top is roasted to provide an aged tonal character that offers amazing acoustic resonance and responsiveness.
Intuitive design nuances
The Taylor 614ce features design nuances that will change how it looks and feels. The use of protein glue optimizes the tonal transfer between key wood components and an ultra-thin, 3.5-mil gloss finish to minimize dampening. The back of the guitar features a beautiful violin-hued appearance without adding extra thickness to the finish thanks to the new, hand-rubbed "Brown Sugar" stain on the back and sides.

For ultimate playability and peace of mind, the 614ce guitar features Taylor's unique NT neck design. The NT neck was made to give players a straighter, more stable guitar neck, resistant to common problems such as changes in humidity. The neck sits in a custom fit pocket along with laser-cut spacers. There's a perfect neck angle for each Taylor guitar, and these precision spacers create it. Best of all, because there is no glue used in the NT neck design, maintenance and adjustments can be made by trained technicians in a matter of minutes.
