The Pro Series Warwick basses are built in Germany under the watchful eye of the Warwick team. Their eye for detail has really helped set Warwick apart from other bass guitar makers. With a tough bolt-on construction, 34” long scale neck, and jumbo frets, the brilliant GPS Thumb has that classic Warwick look and feel. For absolute professionalism, from one of the most important bass manufacturers in the world, choose Warwick. The GPS Thumb is a serious bass for serious players.
Warwick have opted for Ovangkol for the body of this bass. As a tonewood, you can expect a lot of similarities with the popular rosewood body. With Ovangkol you get a very wide spectrum, meaning all the frequencies are relatively balanced. However, this tonewood provides your tone with a slightly full response in the midrange of frequencies, and the high frequencies have a distinct brightness to them. Whilst the Warwick GPS Thumb BO Bass is versatile and can suit many styles, if you’re playing up and down the neck – funk is a good example – you can expect the highs to shine beautifully through the mix.
Warwick's Just-A-Nut III is featured as standard on the Warwick GPS Thumb 5-String bass. The nut is an incredibly important part of any guitar, and with Just-A-Nut III, Warwick have offered a lot of flexibility for adjusting action and adapting to different string gauges. Often the domain of a guitar's bridge, the Just A Nut gives players more options for changing these settings by moving them away from just one part of the bass. The Just-A-Nut III is the newest version of this innovative system and is essential to modifying the playability of your bass to give you the best possible sound.
