The original Purple Platypus combined the overdrive from the Way Huge Red Llama with a frequency doubler to create its wide variety of stunning fuzzy octave tones. Unfortunately, just over 100 of these units were made. This time round there's around 500 available.
The Purple Platypus MkII still offers the original's incredible sounds, taking your performance from that eerie ring modulator style effect to the overly massive octave fuzz/overdrive. The major difference between these two units is the additional hi-cut control, letting you shape the sonic characteristics of the pedal to your own personal taste. You can even change the pedal's sound with just your guitar. Switch to the bridge and pluck away at the strings directly above the pickup to create a mesmerising sitar sound. Experiment away and discover the Octidrive's symphonic potential.
There's nothing worse than a pedal that stops working in the middle of your performance or gets damaged when travelling to a gig. The Purple Platypus' high-quality electronics and durable metal chassis puts those concerns to rest. The pedal will survive any punishment the gig life might throw at it, with its chassis protecting against the elements, knocks, bumps, and drops.
