Grab the sound of a vintage instrument with the Yamaha LL16ARE. As a natural material wood experiences molecular changes as it ages, as such the tone of acoustic guitar woods will gradually shift to become lighter and have increased resonance.
Yamaha have found a way to infuse these qualities on brand new guitars with their Acoustic Resonant Enhancement treatment. Crucially, this treatment grants your guitar an improved sound rather than an 'old' sound thanks to Yamaha's in-depth studies of the aging process. Minimise unpleasant top end ringing while maximising the low end sustain.
In order to achieve this crisp resonant clarity the LL16ARE produces, Yamaha have matched a Engelmann spruce top with a redesigned bracing pattern. The spruce top produces strong overtones that flow with a rich, warm mid-range. Due to its light weight, more of this beautiful sound is emitted into the air and not absorbed by the wood.
The projection is aided by the redesigned bracing pattern, which increases the vibration of the top wood as a result of the shortened bracing height and improved profile. In combination the spruce and bracing pattern offer superb tonal transference, increased volume, and a balanced range.
As a celebration of 40 years of L series guitars, you know you're handling an instrument that has been crafted with expertise, knowledge, and care. Improvements to the feel of the neck on the L series makes them immediately comfortable to play. Refining the neck profile means all the models now have a five-ply design and the L series has a lower string action and wider string spacing.
Original Jumbo body shaping makes the LL16 a comfortable joy to play as it will fit seamlessly in your lap. Finally, Yamaha have instilled a matchless aesthetic. Die-cast gold tuners adorn the fine headstock, and classy touches like the tortoiseshell pickguard and striking white binding complete the classic appearance of this worthy 40th anniversary instrument.
