Key Features
Stunningly stylish. And with sound that never fails to impress. The Yamaha Revstar RS820 blends a distinctive aesthetic with intricately designed features that achieve wide-reaching tone and excellent playability. It's built to give you complete creative control - a double cutaway body shape and slim neck joint gives you uninhibited access to the top frets, so you'll never be held back.
With an appearance inspired by Yamaha's hot rod Cafe Racer motorcycles of 1960s Tokyo and London, the Revstar exhibits outstanding style. And powerful VH5+ pickups with Alnico magnets bring massive output and superb tonal versatility. Yamaha have also included a dry switch coil-split feature. This brings classic, coil-tap brightness, but adds the benefit of minimal volume reduction, and allows humbuckers to retain their noise cancelling properties for supreme clarity. Achieve excellence with the Revstar RS820.

It goes without saying. Every electric guitarist needs pickups strong enough to ensure every note gets heard. The twin VH5+ pickups loaded into the Revstar RS820 are exactly that. They perform exceptionally well at loud volumes, eliminating hum and delivering everything you play with total clarity. So your audience will only hear your music exactly as you intend it to be heard.
The VH5+s are superb for a wide range of styles and genres. That's because they're supremely well-balanced. This means they'll easily accommodate anything you throw at them, and will provide maximum sound quality whether you're playing intense, bassy power chords or scintillating, sharp solos at the top of the fretboard. With Alnico V magnets, they've got a classic, vintage quality with particularly bright overtones. Have peace of mind that you can play what you like - these pickups will be with you the whole time, performing at their best.
Coil-splitting. But not as you know it. The Yamaha Revstar RS820 comes fitted with the specially designed dry switch feature. With most coil-split humbuckers, after the pickup is split to sound like a single-coil, volume is lost and clarity muddied. Thanks to the dry switch, this won't happen with the Revstar. It filters out low frequencies, while maintaining output and fidelity. So you can experiment as much as you like with humbucker and single-coil voices, safe in the knowledge your sound will be on-point.
A ton of expertly designed features. All coming together to give you the most complete playing experience you've ever had in a guitar. First, the neck. It's made from sleek mahogany, allowing your hand to glide smoothly up and down the RS820's scale. And it's feel comfortable as it does so. A "C"-shaped neck profile fits snugly to the contours of your hand.
There's much more. Jumbo sized frets increase the guitar's playing area. This means that it's easier to hit every note - especially useful for when you're playing at speed. And a double cutaway body provides uninhibited access to the top of the slick rosewood fingerboard, which provides definition and crisp articulation in everything you play. This is playability, enhanced.
This is iconic style. Inspired by Yamaha's legendary Cafe Racer motorcycles seen on the roads of Tokyo and London in the 1960s, the Revstar looks sleek, distinctive, and unmistakably cool. With dual racing stripes in the centre of the body, a unique black pickguard, and shining satin nickel hardware, this is a guitar stylish enough for the catwalk. Absolutely stunning.
