Incredibly deep wavetable oscillators
The Modwave MK2 features over 200 factory wavetables, each containing up to 64 waveforms. But it doesn't stop there. With 30+ Modifiers, you can change the basic character of the wavetables, allowing for endless sonic possibilities. Additionally, there are 13 Morph Types that process the wavetables in real-time. Utilize the unique A/B Blend function to create new hybrids from any two wavetables. This level of control over wavetables ensures that your sounds will be truly unique and cutting-edge.
Advanced controls with hands-on control
Take your creativity to new heights by expanding the Modwave MK2's capabilities. Import new wavetables using the free Editor/Librarian software, which supports wavetables in the standard Serum format. You can also create your own wavetables using the free WaveEdit software, specifically designed for the Modwave MK2. Layer the wavetables with samples from the built-in multi-gigabyte PCM library, or import your own samples using the Sample Builder software. The possibilities are endless when it comes to customizing and personalizing your sound.
Kaoss Physics and Motion Sequencing 2.0
Experience dynamic motion like never before with the Modwave MK2's Kaoss Physics and Motion Sequencing 2.0. Kaoss Physics combines an X/Y Kaoss pad with modulatable game physics, allowing for a responsive and interactive control experience. The Modwave MK2 also introduces Motion Sequencing 2.0, bringing the organic and continuously evolving patterns of the Wavestate Wave Sequencing 2.0 to the world of motion sequencing. With multiple lanes and real-time recording, you can create complex and evolving phrases that other step sequencers simply cannot achieve.
Knob-per-function design
The Modwave MK2 is designed with ease of use in mind. Its knob-per-function layout allows for fast and easy customization of sounds. With hundreds of preset sounds organized by front-panel category buttons, you can quickly find the perfect sound for your project. And with four Mod Knobs for instant customization, you have complete control over the fine-tuning of your sound. Whether you're looking for aggressive basses and leads or lush ambient pads, the Modwave MK2 has got you covered.
Morphing and modifiers
The 13 Morph Types give you the ability to stretch, squeeze, reflect, and alter the wavetables in real-time. By modulating these wavetables, you can create dynamic motion and change the timbre of your sound. The Sync Morph Type allows you to create classic swept-sync timbres using just a single oscillator. Additionally, the FM, AM, and Ring Mod Morph Types modulate Osc 2 with Osc 1, adding even more depth and complexity to your sound. What's more, these Morph Types can even be applied to samples, expanding the creative possibilities even further.
To further shape and customize your sound, the Korg Modwave MK2 Synthesizer offers over 30 Modifiers. These modifiers allow you to alter the character of any wavetable at load time. For example, you can isolate the odd or even harmonics, add weight through anti-aliased quantization or saturation, or even revisit the gritty character of old-school wavetable synths with the Vintage 8 & 12 options. With such a wide range of modifiers at your disposal, you have complete control over the texture and tone of your sound.
Pre-loaded with gigabytes of samples
In addition to its powerful wavetable capabilities, the Korg Modwave MK2 Synthesizer also comes loaded with a vast library of samples, totalling in the gigabytes. This sample library features new material from Korg, Airwave, and Francis Preve, as well as a bank from Plugin Guru and a selection from the Nautilus and Krome libraries. Layering these samples with the wavetables can take your sound to new heights, giving you endless possibilities for sonic exploration.
Sculpt your sound with a selection of filter types
To further sculpt and refine your sound, the Korg Modwave MK2 Synthesizer is equipped with a variety of filters. Add vintage character with the aggressive MS-20 Lowpass or Highpass filters, or opt for the strong and sweet Polysix Lowpass filter. These filters have been newly enhanced with gain controls, making it easier to dial in the perfect resonance timbre.
Additionally, the synthesizer offers a full collection of resonant 2-pole and 4-pole Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass, and Band Reject filters. If you're feeling adventurous, you can step outside the box with Korg's unique Multi Filter, which allows for modulatable blends of multiple modes simultaneously. The Modwave MK2 Synthesizer even features presets for the Multi Filter on a front panel knob, making it easier than ever to explore the endless sonic possibilities it offers.
