Take two!

The Sinclastic Empulatrix was one of Noise Engineering's first, and most renowned models, which recently retired. Whilst it features a similar style of envelope/skew, the sound of the Empulatrix is the total opposite when considering harmonic response. As the dynamics of the signal reduced, distortion was increased, providing a unique tone which cannot be found in many other modules. The Sinc Bucina will be a worthy compliment to the Empulatrix. This is thanks to its multiple filter and VCA modes. The two pair are designed to provide you with unlimited sonic potential to confidently take on any live performance or studio recording.

Sonic filters

The Sinc Bucina has a switch labelled 6/0/12. This refers to the two filters available on the module. Selecting 6 provides a gentle slope which offers incredible resonance whilst 12 gives you the total opposite, an extreme slop with minimal resonance. By introducing the slopes into your signal path you'll see a increase in gain which subtly saturates the signal, providing warmth and richness.

The gate

The Sinc Bucina's gate provides you with a slew. Whatever your send in through the gate you can manipulate via the ASR envelope. This allows you to manipulate the attack and release of the signal to your liking to create different textures. However, there's one major difference. Since you're operating with a Slew you are free to send in whatever controlled voltage you desire from other modules which can be adjusted with the ASR controls. Send drums, loops, samples or whatever your heart desires through this chain for wholly unique, innovative sonic results.
