Unlike conventional drum synth modules, the Trinity employs multiple different parameters that allow you to shape and sculpt your sound. Offering versatile tonal control, the Trinity module has precision rotary controls for changing the shape, style and overall sound of your three drum voices. With seven rotary controls and four mini potentiometers in total, the Trinity provides the utmost control for sound design capabilities.
The ‘Character’ and ‘Grit’ controls are perfect for adding saturation/colouration to your sound, providing added power and flavour when needed. You can also change the overall shape/pitch of your sound using the Pitch, EQ, Sweep and Time parameters. The module even features an integrated clipping limiter as well as built-in decay for added depth to your sound. You can also use the Trinity module for digital music production thanks to the MIDI over (micro) USB connection – perfect for use with external grooveboxes and computers.
Four varied drum algorithms
You are also presented with four varying drum synth algorithms to choose from to achieve various drum styles and sounds. ‘Block’ is an analog-inspired drum synth voice which features a sine/triangle core – ideal for classic electronic drum sounds. ‘Heap’ is an additive drum synth algorithm with 12 partials – great for achieving natural/real-world sounds and pitched percussion such as bells and chimes. ‘Neon’ is an FM drum synth engine which is great for creating vintage-style drums and clanging-metallic style sounds. ‘Arcade’ is a noise generation synth algorithm which takes inspiration from arcade game sounds – perfect for creating sound FX, claps and crunchy digital noises.
Trinity and the matrix
From the studio to the stage, the Trinity Digital Drum Synth Array provides you with a comprehensive switchable output matrix that allows you to easily route each of the drum channel’s output. You can also route them to the mix output or individually for use with external modules and audio gear – making it ideal for live performances. Each channel has its own dedicated CV section without outputs for each parameter, as well as three trigger buttons. With 24 CV inputs in total and three-way outputting switching, the Trinity module is a must-have for any performer or sound designer.
