Controls for the Treadstone are easy to use. Its interface is simple yet provides more experienced synthesists with endless routing and synthesis possibilities. Creating huge analogue sounds is easy with the Treadstone. You'll find main controls for waveshape, filters, envelopes and modulation, all the essentials needed to create thick, fat bass and lead sounds. This version puts all the exact same controls of the desktop version of the Treadstone into eurorack format.
Thick bass, soaring leads, beeps, tones, zaps and FX are just some of the possibilities the Treadstone has. At the core are square and sawtooth waves with a mix control for morphing between them. Its steep 24dB low-pass filter is perfect for those classic squelchy bass/leads. This is an analogue SSM style filter, one used in many classic synths such as Korg Poly 6 and Monopoly.
Not thick enough? PWM (pulse width modulation) and sub-osc controls provide that extra thickness for your sound. PWM can be used to create deep, rounded basses by thickening up your sound, while the sub-osc adds some weight to your low-end.
Treadstone's built-in FX let you add that final touch. Add movement to sounds, smooth delays, or bright, white noise. You'll find triangle and square wave shapes to modulate your sound, perfect for making evolving patches. Its lo-fi digital echo effect lets you add delay, with controls for the time, speed and mix of the delay.
Want to create a wind effect, upfilter/downfilter, or brighten up your synth sound? You can do this by using the analogue white noise generator which adds some high frequency content into your patch.
Both quick, punchy basses and evolving leads can be made. Treadstone's envelope generator gives you full control of your attack, decay/sustain and release times of your patch. This means you can create fast punchy percussion, hard-hitting basses, as well as smooth evolving leads, all with one eurorack synth.
Integrating external equipment is easy too. You can play your melodies in piano-style by connecting an external MIDI keyboard straight into the MIDI port. Then tweak your sound on the fly.
