Key Features
The Analogue Systems RS-290 Sampler and Delay Module is a voltage controlled delay/sampler module providing you with 50 user memories for delay presets, and extensive analog control of digital parameters. The RS-290 works both as a delay module and a sampler. The delay unit offers a tape delay mode and digital delay mode, providing you with different sounds and characteristics. As well as being a delay unit, the RS-290 can be used as a powerful, voltage controlled, single-voice sampler. The RS-290 offers a range of controls for tweaking your sample or delay. The RS-290 provides you with a powerful and practical effects units for your eurorack system.

The Analogue Systems RS-290 provides you with 2 delay modes. These are tape delay and digital delay. Tape delay operates like a vintage tape delay, on which the delay time is determined by the speed of the tape as it passes across the heads, and is controlled by speeding up the tape and slowing it down. This allows you to create a range of unusual effects, as the pitch gets effected as well. Digital delay mode is capable of creating larger pitch shifts. The module allows you to adjust gain, delay time, feedback, mix, damping, and the bypass. Additionally, it features a variable sampling rate from 9.8kHz, to 46.9kHz. The delay mode is also capable of creating anything from regular echo, chorus, flanging effects, comb filtering, pitch-shifting, tape echo, and analog delay simulations
As well as the 2 main delay modes, the RS-290 also features 3 sub-modes of operation, resulting in a total of six operational delay modes for the RS-290. These sub modes are stereo delay (no external feedback loop), mono delay (pre effect loop), and mono delay (post effect loop). These can be used to create a range of new sounds and effects. In stereo delay mode, the unit acts as a stereo delay, with 2 taps presented to the left and right outputs. The Pre Mono mode allows you to patch external effects and treatments into the regeneration loop. The Post Mono mode allows you to do the same, however, patch it into the signal path following the output from the delay itself, therefore affecting the regeneration loop and the output signal.
The RS-290 is a combination of sampling with voltage control of record start/stop, playback/loop points, allowing you to create sounds and effects not possible with other modules. The module stores a single clip of audio up to 26.8 seconds long. You can either sample the clip manually, or use the selection of triggers to start and stop sampling. There are also a number of playback modes, allowing you to change the way the sample is played, and also modify them. The playback modes include one-shot, looped, and alternating modes. You can change the start and stop times, and modify these settings dynamically using control voltages, allowing you to select different snippets of the sampled audio. You can also choose to play the sample back at various pitches. Sample rate and bit rate can be changed during playback.
