The RS-85 is ideal for a range of sound design applications, with its premium-grade LFO circuitry generating high-end bass-orientated sounds. The flexible design produces extremely low minimum frequencies, providing on cycle every 200 seconds. This gives you the ability to generate a wide range of sounds and effects. The maximum frequency of the module can be used in three different ways, as a LF modulator, as n audio frequency modulator or as a secondary sound source. The premium-grade circuitry ensures pitch stability and waveform accuracy for optimal audio fidelity and performance. The RS-85 boasts three frequency controls in the form of precision attenuators. The High frequency control ranges from 3Hz to 1,4000Hz. The Low control ranges from 0.02Hz to 5Hz. The V-Low control provides an extremely low range of 0.0005Hz to 1Hz for maximum versatility.
As well as providing a wide frequency range, the RS-85 provides you with Sine, Triangle, Square and Sawtooth waveforms for generating a wide range of sounds. The sine and triangle waves are often used to generate natural acoustic characteristics such as vibrato and tremolo. The square wave is also great for generating acoustic effects such as trills. The sawtooth is also great for effects, being ideal for rising and falling transitional-style sounds. Each of the waveforms have their own dedicated outputs for use with external modules.
As well as the four dedicated waveform outputs, the module features a reset input. This reset (sync) function works by re-initialising the waveform when a second signal is incorporated via the RESET input. It then starts the LFO waveform every time appositive-going voltage is detected. It can be used in various ways to achieve a range of results, ideal for sound experimentation. It is accompanied by a status LED, providing a visual indictor for your LFO frequency.
